Brave New World – Aldous Huxley Interview

Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World details some prophetic happenings that are increasingly relevant today. I came across this interview from 1958 and it struck me as an important reminder.

    But rather than a Communist dystopia we seem to be heading for its mirror image – an Ayn Rand dystopia in which the extreme individualism of a few threatens the freedom of many. But he gets the ‘manufacturing of consent’ right – people do seem to have been convinced.

      Very true Charles. I think the easiest thing to relate it to at his time was a Communist dystopia but it seems more like a corporatist fascism to me.
